American Dream

SYNOPSIS:

Frustrated by the lack of opportunities for black people he had in France, Mickael has been living in the United States for the past 5 years. Proud of his success, he invited his little brother (Matthieu) to Chicago to convince him to try his luck here. Unfortunately, everything turns into a nightmare when they accidentally smash a white cop on the side of the road.

 Nicolas Polixene, Sylvain Loubet dit Gajol (DIRECTORS) Nicolas Polixene Born on 04 March 1983 in the Paris region and originally from the West Indies.
Fascinated by the 7th art since childhood, Nicolas decided to stop his scientific studies and devote himself to cinema. He took his first steps at the EICAR (International School of Audiovisual Creation and Direction). There, he learns the basics of screenwriting, acting direction and film language.
His second student short film "Dreamed" won the Grand Prix Emotion at the first edition of the Fontainebleau Festival. At the end of his schooling, he gains experience by working on film shoots and participating in numerous competitions.
At the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, he won the Oceans Prize for the best short film script for the "Papé" project. His film was selected in more than 60 festivals (Aspen, Palm Springs, Clermont-Ferrand…) and won many awards.
The short film is supported by France Télévisions, the CNC, the Guadeloupe Region, the Ministry of Overseas France and Unifrance Films. Produced by V.O. Films and Les Films du Cygne, the shooting will take place in January 2015 in Guadeloupe.
He wrote and directed the short film "American Dream" in 2018.

Sylvain Loubet dit Gajol.Born September 02, 1983 in Toulouse.
In 2002, he joined the International School of Audiovisual Creation and Directing in Paris, where he learned the basics of writing and directing and made his first short films.
After these three years of study, he gained a little experience by working in multiple jobs on various shootings.
Then in 2010, he became creative producer for The Walt Disney Company France. His work: imagining and directing advertising campaigns for the brand with big ears and its subsidiaries (Lucas Film, Marvel, Pixar...).
But caught up by his first love, fiction, he decided at the beginning of 2018 to write "American Dream" with his lifelong friend Nicolas Polixene, whom he had met a few years earlier at film school. The short film, produced by Caviar, will be directed a few months later in Quebec.
His motto: "Logic will lead you from point A to point B. Imagination will take you everywhere."
