A 60-year old man suffering from Alzheimer's struggles with the memory of the death of his wife while his adult children fight over whether to place him in a home or not. 


Michael Whalen (DIRECTOR) Michael Whalen has been producing documentaries and television shows since 1994. His television experience includes writing, producing and directing for such hit series as A&E’s “Biography” and The Discovery Channel’s “Super Structures.” Additionally, he has produced over 50 hours of documentary programming for Fox Television, MTV, NBC, and The Learning Channel (TLC).Mr. Whalen has also produced multiple award winning independent documentary films. His feature documentary, “ANOTHER FIRST STEP,” received The CINE GOLDEN EAGLE, the BRONZE PLAQUE from the 42nd Annual Columbus Awards, and was nominated for a student ACADEMY AWARD. A recent film, “A Question of Habit,” which explores American popular culture’s odd fascination with all things “nun,” premiered at the 2011 Queens World Film Festival, has garnered four national awards and was broadcast on PBS stations in San Francisco (KQED) and Chicago (WTTW).“Gringos at the Gate” uses the US-Mexico soccer rivalry to explore identity issues that Mexican-American are struggling with in America. The film is currently airing on ESPN Deportes and won a Gold REMI at the Houston Worldfest International Film Festival, an Award of Merit at the Accolade Awards and a Honorable Mention at the Columbus International Film Festival. His 2014 release, “The Farmer & The Chef,” played to sold out crowds at the 2014 Cinequest Film Festival and two sold out nights at a local theater in Los Gatos, CA. The film also received the Gold REMI Award at the 2015 Worldfest Houston International Film Festival and an Award of Excellence from the BEA Festival of Media Arts.Finally, in January of 2015 he premiered the film, “Can’t Thread a Moving Needle” about sexual assault on college campuses. The hour-long feature is a collaboration with Prof. Barbara Means Fraser and will be used at colleges across the country as a training tool.
